What does a Licensed Clinical Social Worker do?

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is trained in a variety of mental health and wellbeing-related domains including counseling/psychotherapy, case management (helping clients to access resources), and welfare/public health and policy. All social workers are required to adhere to high standards of ethics and confidentiality.

What type of therapy do you practice?

I use an integration of multiple therapeutic techniques and theoretic orientations including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Trauma Resiliency Model, mindfulness-based practices, and a strengths-based perspective in order to tailor the treatment to your specific needs.

What forms of payment do you accept? 

I accept cash, personal checks, credit card, and approved electronic payment methods.

What about medication?

While prescribing medication is outside of my scope of practice, I frequently collaborate with psychiatrists/physicians or provide referrals to ensure continuity of care and make the therapeutic process as easy as possible for you.

What is home-based therapy like?

For home-based therapy, I come to your home and conduct the session in the convenience of your own home. Home-based therapy creates an opportunity for you to engage in therapy in a familiar environment, fostering feelings of safety and comfort. There are certain criteria that make home-based therapy a good match for specific clients, which I will discuss further during your free phone consultation.

How much does therapy cost?

Is the phone consultation free?

Yes, I offer a free phone consultation to discuss important issues related to the therapy and your needs. The phone consultation is usually about 15 minutes long.
